FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — Kentucky's Education and Workforce Development Cabinet is receiving more than $900,000 to help with a database to link workforce and education information.

The U.S. Labor Department grant is part of nearly $6 million being awarded in the fourth round of the Workforce Data Quality Initiative.

The Labor Department says six states are receiving the funds. Labor Secretary Thomas Perez said the grants will help workers access information to find training programs best suited to them.

The Labor Department says Kentucky, Connecticut, Indiana and Mississippi will start developing databases, while Nebraska and New Jersey will expand work already underway on databases there.
