Rep. Raul Grijalva, D-Ariz., called on President Obama to break away from his fundraising during a trip to Texas this week and visit the U.S.-Mexico border, where an immigration crisis is brewing.

On the MSNBC show “NOW with Alex Wagner,” Grijalva on Monday questioned Obama for not making a personal visit to the border and said the “borderlands deserve a presidential visit” and it “would be important and very symbolic.”

He joins several Republicans, notably Texas Gov. Rick Perry, who wants the president to see the crisis of tens of thousands of unaccompanied children streaming out of Mexico.
