ATLANTA (AP) — A new federal lawsuit maintains that a Georgia charter school organization has failed to meet its payments under terms of a loan and is now in default.

The lawsuit, filed this week in U.S. District Court by Wells Fargo Bank, names the defendants as Fulton Science Academy Inc.; Fulton Educational Services Inc. and Fulton Sunshine Academy Inc.

The Fulton County school board on Tuesday voted to terminate the charter of Fulton Science Academy High School, citing violations of its charter that include financial problems that date to 2008.

Randall Morgan, chairman of the academy's governing board, told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that the school hopes to prevail when its case goes before the state board of education, which makes the final determination on its charter.
