BEIRUT (AP) — A Lebanese man who was abducted along with 10 Lebanese in Syria in May has returned home.

The man, identified by Lebanese media as 47-year-old Awad Ibrahim, was given a hero's welcome at Beirut airport late Wednesday.

Ibrahim was part of a group of Shiite Muslim pilgrims seized in May near the Syrian city of Aleppo. A previously unheard group calling themselves the "Syrian Rebels in Aleppp" claimed responsibility.

The motives for the abduction, amid the chaos of Syria's increasingly bloody battle to bring down President Bashar Assad, remained unclear. Ibrahim is the second in the group to be released, Lebanese media said.
