This year's Leukemia Ball -- the sparky spring fundraiser for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society -- is going with a throwback theme, "Saturday Night Blues," with "Saturday Night Live" alumus Dana Carvey headlining the black-tie event. In addition, Jim Belushi & the Sacred Hearts band will perform. Belushi is, of course, the brother of the late comedian John Belushi. Carvey is known for his political impressions of yore, including George H.W. Bush and Ross Perot. The gala is scheduled for Saturday, March 23, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. Organizers are hoping to raise more than $3.1 million to benefit LLS's National Capital Area Chapter.
