A man who ran a nationally known swim club in the Washington area has been banned for life from USA Swimming for an improper relationship with an underage swimmer in the 1980s, the Associated Press reported. Rick Curl informed the National Board of Review that he was waiving his right to challenge the case against him. Curl was accused of starting an illicit relationship with Kelley Davis Currin when she was 13 years old. Currin said she received a $150,000 settlement from Curl not to report the relationship to law enforcement, according to the AP. The Curl-Burke Swim Club, with which Curl is no longer associated, has changed its name to Nation's Capital Swim Club.
