Over Labor Day weekend, Olympic figure skater and Logan Circle resident Michelle Kwan got engaged to her boyfriend of more than a year, Clay Pell, People magazine reports. The 32-year-old two-time Olympic medalist was asked by the 30-year-old White House National Security Council staffer while they were vacationing on Block Island, off of the Rhode Island coast. "It was a simple decision and it made sense, that's what's so exciting to me," Kwan told People. "We are working together as a team, like in [pair skating]." Pell is the grandson of the late Sen. Claiborne Pell of Rhode Island, the father of Pell Grants.
