Artwork from local students now greets international travel at Washington Dulles International Airport. More than 100 students from nine local schools have their art displayed in the "Hello and Welcome" exhibit, in the U.S. Customs and Border Protection area in Concourse C. The students drew self portraits that were put together with words of welcome in several languages. The images were fabricated in porcelain enamel, and 18 of the 40 panels were backlit using LED lights. A plaque includes the names of each student, according to the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, which manages the airport.
