Local "Top Chef" alumni are apparently doing something right, because Food & Wine named all of them among the best restaurateurs to emerge from the show. Bryan Voltaggio's Volt, Mike Isabella's Graffiato and Spike Mendelsohn's Good Stuff Eatery received nods from the magazine, with particular praise heaped on Graffiato's wood-grilled pizzas. Even if "Top Chef's" D.C. season was a clunker, D.C.'s top chefs are doing just fine.
