Considering adopting a pet from the Montgomery County Animal Shelter but worried about the unexpected pitter patter of little paws in the future? Worry no more.
The Montgomery County Humane Society is partnering with veterinary clinics to introduce a new pre-adoption program to spay or neuter all animals adopted from the shelter. The flat fee is $70 for a cat or kitten and $120 for a dog or puppy.
“[This will solve] one of the main animal welfare issues in the county – helping the community manage the number of unwanted litters that ultimately contribute to the population of homeless animals,” said MCHS President Cris Bombaugh.
