Redskins linebacker London Fletcher remains undecided about whether or not he’ll return next season. But he told the NFL Network what will matter most in his decision.
“If I can get myself healthy enough to play, play at the level I am capable of playing, that I am used to playing, I will be back,” he said.
Fletcher, who has made four straight Pro Bowls as an alternate, then told the network that this decision is nothing new, saying, “it just happens someone has asked me the question.” But the big issue last year wasn’t whether or not he’d retire, but whether or not he’d re-sign.
Fletcher played his best ball last season in December when nursing a sprained ankle. He played hurt much of the second half of the season and needed to sit out practices, something he is loathe to do.
That’s why he told the NFL Network that there’s one reason he won’t return.
“If I can’t get myself physically ready to play,” he said.
