LACASSINE, La. (AP) — Louisiana Spirits LLC says Bayou Rum will be the brand name for its soon-to-be released rum made from Louisiana sugar cane.

Louisiana Spirits President Trey Litel also says Republic National Distributing Co. is the exclusive distribution partner for Louisiana.

The American Press reports (http://bit.ly/cseYHv ) the company plans to produce up to 1,000 cases a week of clear, dark and spiced rums.
