BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — The Louisiana Business & Technology Center at LSU's south campus has been awarded a grant of $90,000 by the U.S. Small Business Administration.
Roy J. Keller, the center's associate director, tells The Advocate (http://bit.ly/1wEORUy ) the federal grant will be paired with a $50,000 match from the Louisiana Department of Economic Development.
SBA's grant was awarded through its Federal and State Technology partnership program, also known as FAST.
SBA Administrator Maria Contreras-Sweet said such grants mean small businesses get the support they need to turn innovative new ideas into job-creating new businesses.
At LSU, Keller said, the money helps provide technical assistance to science- and technology-driven small businesses at the campus incubator.
