Man, 75, struck by car in Silver Spring

A 75-year-old man has been hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after he was struck by a car in Silver Spring.

Montgomery County police are investigating the crash, which occurred at about 9:30 a.m. Thursday on Colesville Road near Noyes Drive.

The vehicle, a silver Honda Accord, was traveling northbound when it struck the pedestrian, John Skelton Williams, who was crossing the road. Williams was transported to Suburban Hospital with serious injuries.

Police identified the car's driver as Dennis Stewart, 49, of Columbia.
