A man was arrested in Montgomery County after he committed a number of traffic violations while officers were following him and then tried to carjack a vehicle, police said.
Glenn Vincent Rhodes, 34, of an unconfirmed address, faces charges including attempted carjacking, resisting arrest and about 30 traffic violations, Montgomery County police said.
About 10 p.m. Wednesday, officers spotted a Honda Accord in the Colesville area that appeared to be stolen, police said. Officers tried to stop the car, but the driver drove on the lower part of a Jersey wall and continued on, police said.
The Honda struck a curb and then continued on with two flat tires. Eventually, Rhodes bailed out of the Honda, entered a Mazda Protege through a window and tried to push that car's driver out of the vehicle, police said.
Officers then took Rhodes into custody, and the suspect allegedly told police that he was high on crystal methamphetamine.
