POWHATAN, Va. (AP) — Police say an arrest has been made after a body was found inside a burned vehicle at a boat ramp in Powhatan.

The Powhatan County Sheriff's Office says in a release that 29-year-old Juan Carlos Ayala Rivas was arrested Friday in Chesterfield County on charges of first-degree murder, abduction, arson and grand larceny.

Rivas is accused in the death of 24-year-old Jaime Cruz Avila of Henrico County. Avila's burned vehicle was found at Watkins Landing boat ramp on Feb. 6.

Rivas is being held without bond at the Powhatan Correctional Center pending arraignment on Wednesday. The release didn't give Rivas' hometown and it wasn't immediately known whether he has an attorney.
