A man was dead after a one-vehicle crash on the Baltimore-Washington Parkway in Prince George's County, county fire officials said.

Prince George's County firefighters and medics found the car about 11 a.m. Monday on the median strip between Annapolis Road and Riverdale Road in Landover. The northbound vehicle has left the road and struck a tree, officials said.

The unidentified driver was trapped inside his car and had to be freed by firefighters. He was flown to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
