Man found shot dead in Capitol Heights

Updated 4:33 p.m.: Police identified the victim a 21-year-old Nichols Andrew Battle, who was found shot roughly a half a mile from his home on the 100 block of West Mill Road in Capitol Heights. His death is being investigated as a homicide.

Detectives had no details available on a suspect or motive in the case.

Prince George's County police are investigating a man who was found shot and dead in Capitol Heights.

Police responding to a report of a suspicious vehicle at about 6:54 a.m. Thursday found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound dead in the vehicle, located near the intersection of Pepper Mill Drive and Drylog Street, according to police.

Homicide investigators are at the scene, but the death had not been ruled a homicide late Thursday afternoon, according to a police spokeswoman.
