A man was killed and a young child was wounded in a shooting in Seat Pleasant, police said.

Shortly after 10 a.m. Wednesday, Seat Pleasant police officers went to the 6800 block of Seat Pleasant Drive and found two shooting victims. One of the victims, a 25-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other victim, a young child, was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Prince George's County police spokesman Lt. Bill Alexander said.

According to a preliminary investigation, the man was targeted by two males who fled in a black, four-door BMW with Maryland license plates, Alexander said. There is no evidence that the child was also targeted.

The relationship between the man and the child was unclear. Alexander was not releasing the child's age or gender.
