Man killed in daylight hours in northeast D.C.

A 31-year-old man was gunned down in Northeast D.C. Saturday evening, according to D.C. police.

Police responded to reports of a shooting around 8:10 p.m. in the 4400 block of Benning Road, which is near 44th Street and the Benning Road Metrorail stop on the Blue Line.

There they found Robert Plight of Northeast, Washington, DC, with gunshot wounds, according to Metropolitan Police. Plight was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Police had not made any arrests as of Sunday afternoon.
