Montgomery County police are on the hunt for three suspects in a robbery-turned-shooting in Wheaton Saturday night.

At 11:24 p.m. off-duty police found a man who had been shot in the leg on the 10800 block of Bucknell Drive, just south of the Wheaton Metro station, according to police spokesman Capt. Paul Starks.

The man had apparently been walking in the area when he was approached by three black men. When he tried to walk away, he was grabbed, forced to the ground and robbed, Starks said, and when he tried to run, he was shot in the leg.

The Montgomery County Police Department has not made any arrests in the incident.
