Man stabbed in the chest while aboard a Metrobus

A man has been stabbed twice in the chest on a Metrobus, officials said.

The stabbing occured shortly before 6 p.m. Wednesday at 11th and H Streets NE. It took place aboard an X2 Metrobus that was headed to Lafayette Square, according to Metro spokesman Dan Stessel.

The victim was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The assailant, a man, fled the scene. He is described as 5-feet-8 and 200 pounds, with a dark complexion, a bald head and a beard. He was wearing a black hat and black sweatpants, and he was carrying a black bag.
