Police have obtained an arrest warrant for a suspect in a double shooting in Annapolis on Wednesday evening that left one dead and another hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
Clarence Eugene Johnson III is wanted on charges of first-degree murder, second-degree murder, attempted first- and second-degree murder as well as other related charges, police announced.
Police found 33-year-old Joseph Johnson III, of Brooklyn, Md. dead when they arrived at 1458 Tyler Avenue for a report of a shooting at about 9:19 p.m. Wednesday. They also found Annapolis resident Jana Jackson, 31, at the same address. Jackson remains in critical condition after being flown to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma center to be treated for gunshot wounds.
Police said there is no relationship between the victims and the suspect, but that they knew each other.
Johnson should be considered armed and dangerous, police said.
