The Florida son of Cubans and the Republican rising star prepared as if he was giving the president's speech, practicing for a week in a setting just like his actual response: at night and beside an American flag.
His office even tweeted a photo of one of the sessions, noting, "SNEAK PEEK: @MarcoRubio practicing for the #GOPResponse last week."
