Marie Claire is joining the maelstrom of White House Correspondents' Association parties, kicking off the weekend with a Thursday night fete -- a first for the magazine -- scheduled for April 25. Organizers tell Yeas & Nays that expected attendees include the magazine's editor-in-chief, Anne Fulenwider, and creative director Nina Garcia, of "Project Runway" fame. Also, actresses Elizabeth Banks and Julia Louis-Dreyfus are expected to attend, along with the White House's Alyssa Mastromonaco and liberal activist Sandra Fluke.

The private dinner party is being organized by D.C.-based PR professionals Jessica Hoy and Meredith Fineman, who are also hosting an after-party at the nightclub Heist with Rock the Vote. This year's White House Correspondents' Association dinner, also known as the "nerd prom," will be headlined by comedian Conan O'Brien and will take place April 27 at the Washington Hilton.
