A Maryland man was sentenced to 12 years in prison for threatening a teenage girl into sending dozens of nude photos of her.

According to court documents, Joshua P. Blankenship, 25, of Calvert County, created a fake Facebook profile and befriended a teenage girl in January 2011. They exchanged texts, and two months later he asked the girl for a nude photo of herself, and she complied.

Blankenship then sent text messages to the girl demanding 10 more nude photos and that if she did not produce them, she would go to jail because she had sent an illegal image on her cell phone. The victim produced several dozen pictures and sent them to Blankenship.

Blankenship was eventually identified, and arrested, prosecutors said.
