BEL AIR, Md. (AP) -- Harford County authorities have charged a woman in the death of her 9-month-old daughter.

The sheriff's office says Qucelia Yvette Baldeo faces charges including first- and second-degree murder in the death of her child earlier this week.

The 19-year-old Joppa woman was served with an arrest warrant Friday after leaving the hospital, where authorities say she was taken after apparently trying to commit suicide. She's being held without bond at the county jail.

Detectives suspect that Baldeo repeatedly injected her daughter with insulin and then slashed her wrists in an apparent suicide attempt.

Sheriff's deputies were called to Baldeo's home Tuesday afternoon for a report of a child in cardiac arrest. The baby was pronounced dead less than hour later.

Online court records don't list a lawyer for Baldeo.
