A clerk at a motel in Woodbridge was sexually assaulted by a masked man, Prince William County police said.

According to a police, around 10 p.m. Wednesday, a 33-year-old clerk at the Econo Lodge at 13317 Gordon Blvd. received a call to let someone into one of the motel rooms. As the woman walked to the room, she was approached from behind in the stairwell by a masked man who then forced her into the room at knife point.

The woman was knocked unconscious and sexually assaulted, according to Officer Jonathan Perok, who would not give any further details about the attack.

The victim was taken to a hospital, and police are still investigating.
