RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Less than six weeks in office, Gov. Terry McAuliffe continues to make key appointments to his administration.

McAuliffe announced several on Tuesday, including appointments with natural resources, health and human resources and commerce and trade.

Two key appointments were Margaret Schultze as commissioner of the Department of Social Services and Russ Baxter as deputy secretary of natural resources for the Chesapeake Bay.

Schultze is a Roanoke native whose experience in state government dates to 1997 with the Family and Children's Trust Fund. She'll now oversee one of the state's largest agencies.

As for Baxter, he had been Chesapeake Bay coordinator for the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality.

The other appointments are a confidential assistant to the secretary of commerce and trade and an executive assistant to the secretary of technology.
