Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell, who has made the rounds recently on cable television, will make his next appearance on NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday.
McDonnell is scheduled to appear with David Axelrod, an advisor to President Barack Obama who has left for Chicago to work on the president's 2012 re-election campaign, and New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, to talk about the 2012 presidental race and the economy.
McDonnell, vice chairman of the Republican Governors Association, has been mentioned as a potential vice presidential pick in 2012 (while repeatedly batting away that talk), and his stock has been rising as a national GOP player since being elected to office in 2009.
He delivered the Republican response to Obama's State of the Union address in2010, and has delivered the Republicans' weekly address multiple times, including once last month in which he criticized the federal health care overhaul.
