Police are investigating an armed robbery of a McLean bank, and they are asking the public for information that could help them in the case.

About 9:30 a.m., July 9, a man wearing a fisherman's hat, put on a mask shortly before walking into the Capitol One Bank at 6890 Elm St.

The man indicated that he had a weapon and demanded money from a bank employee. The clerk complied and the man fled. The robber was last seen heading toward an office building across the street from the bank near Dolley Madison Boulevard.

The robber is described as black, around 6 feet tall, with a medium build. He wore a ski mask and gloves, a fisherman's hat, a three-quarter length khaki-colored trench coat and dress pants.
