HOUMA, La. (AP) — A newly announced bank merger will be headquartered in Houma.
It's the result of a merger between Deridder-based Louisiana Community Bancorp and Houma-based Coastal Commerce Bancshares.
The resulting company will manage banks in nine parishes with assets totaling $900 million.
It will operate as Louisiana Community Bancorp out of Coastal Commerce's main office.
Mark Folse, CEO of Louisiana Community Bancorp, tells The Courier (http://bit.ly/1wrPhBe ) the company will own and operate four independent banking subsidiaries — City Savings Bank, Coastal Commerce Bank, Kaplan State Bank and Teche Bank and Trust.
Folse says the four banks' existing customers will see little difference in service once the merger is complete around Jan. 1.
