GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) — A Grand Rapids software company has made it possible to hold Michigan's booming craft beer industry in the palm of your hand.

Fusionary Media has created the "Michigan Micro Caps" smartphone game, which includes a full index of Michigan breweries.

Steve Lewis, Fusionary partner and lead programmer on Micro Caps., tells MLive.com (http://bit.ly/OACOWp ) the company "wanted to create a game people would play on one hand, but which would offer some value on the other."

The game is similar to the popular "Bejeweled" tile-matching game. Users attempt to form chains of adjacent brewery bottle caps and level-up by clearing the board of each chain.

The game also doubles as a reference tool that exposes beer fans to new breweries. It also provides information about each of the 102 in-state breweries.
