The latest proof that Democrats are going all-in to help former party boss Terry McAuliffe win the Virginia gubernatorial election is first lady Michelle Obama's decision to hold a fundraiser for McAuliffe.

In email to supporters Monday, the candidate announced the A-lister supporter who joins the Clintons and many other Democrats who are helping their former fundraiser and party organizer beat Republican Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli.

From McAuliffe today:

Friend,

I've had my share of long days during this campaign.

But I'll bet that meeting for meeting, event for event, my schedule doesn't touch Michelle Obama's.

That's why I'm honored she's joining us in Virginia on Thursday evening to talk about why this election is so important.

Donate $5 or more today and you'll be automatically entered for the chance join us -- we'll even make sure you get a picture to remember the night.

Michelle is taking the time to support this campaign because the stakes couldn't be higher for Virginians who need a Governor to put jobs first instead of pushing a divisive social agenda.

And she's committed to protecting the progress Democrats made here last year electing Senator Kaine and reelecting her husband.

Michelle's doing her part to make sure we keep Virginia blue. Will you do yours?

Please chip in $5 or more today to support my campaign -- if you donate before noon Wednesday, we'll throw your name in the hat to meet Michelle on Thursday night.

Thanks for your support and I hope to see you there,

Terry
