First lady Michelle Obama this morning announced a new partnership with Pinterest and several major media companies to promote healthy recipes, as she prepares to kick off a two-day “Let’s Move!” tour.

On a new Pinterest recipe page, Condé Nast, Hearst Magazines, Meredith, Food Network and Time, Inc. have compiled thousands of recipes from their popular cooking websites — including Cooking Light, Epicurious, Eating Well, and Every Day with Rachael Ray.

The idea behind the new Pinterest page is that parents, busy cooks and beginners can find healthy recipes from the various websites in one place. Pinterest users can compile recipes they like by “pinning” them to their own recipe boards.

“As a mom, I know how challenging it can be to think of new meal ideas that your kids will like and that will be good for them,” the first lady said in a statement.  “This partnership takes the guess work out of finding healthier recipes and gives parents the information and the tools they need to make healthy choices for their families every day.”

The recipes are divided into Pinterest boards by topic, including food groups, meals, and specific needs.

The first lady kicks off her “Let’s Move!” tour tomorrow in Clinton, Miss., where she and celebrity cook Rachael Ray will promote healthy school lunches.
