Tea Party-backed Republican candidate for Senate Milton Wolf of Kansas released his first radio ad on Tuesday, one labeling him as "the next Ted Cruz."

Wolf is trying to unseat three-term GOP Sen. Pat Roberts. A distant cousin of President Obama, Wolf, a physician, is endorsed by former Rep. Jim Ryun in the new ad.

"This year, I'm supporting Dr. Milton Wolf in the Republican primary for U.S. Senate," Ryun says in the ad. "The reason is simple. Kansans deserve a vote and a voice from their senator. Milton Wolf is a doctor, not a politician, and they're already calling him the next Ted Cruz."

Wolf is a strong opponent of the Affordable Care Act and has said he'd push for patient-centered, free-market health care reform. Wolf has also been critical of Roberts for his endorsement of then-Gov. Kathleen Sebelius to be appointed secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services. HHS oversees Obamacare.

"Dr. Wolf is a proud conservative who believes America must re-embrace the Constitution," Ryan adds in the radio advertisement.

Wolf has already received endorsements from conservative organizations including the Madison Project and the Senate Conservatives Fund.
