Missouri state legislator wants to make promoting Right To Work laws a felony

Missouri Representative Jeff Roorda, a Democrat, has responded to proposal to make his state the next one to go Right To Work by introducing a bill to make proposing such a law a felony. Seriously. Here is the text of his bill:

Any member of the general assembly who proposes a piece of legislation that further restricts the right of an individual to bargain collectively, as set forth under section 29, article I of the Missouri Constitution, shall be guilty of a class D felony.

Roorda told the Associated Press he was “inspired” to propose the bill in response to a fellow representative, Republican Mike Leara, proposing a law that would ban legislation to limit gun rights.
