LAS VEGAS (AP) — Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is scheduled to make his sixth campaign stop in Nevada since April with an appearance at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

The Romney rally slated for 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Cox Pavilion sports arena is open to the public, with free tickets available online at Romney's campaign website.

The former Massachusetts governor has been trying this week to blunt criticism about remarks he made during a May fundraiser in Florida.

He told wealthy campaign donors he couldn't count on votes from 47 percent of Americans who don't pay income taxes and believe they are entitled to government help

During a Wednesday forum in Washington with Spanish-language television network Univision, Romney said his campaign is about 100 percent of Americans.
