Montgomery County police have arrested a teenager they believe to be responsible for a series of home and church burglaries in Damascus.

Police captured Steven Tyler Haines on Sunday, after officers responded to reports of two burglaries over the weekend on the 11300 block of Mountain View Road.

Officers spotted Haines and arrested him following a foot chase. Officers said they found property on him that had been stolen from a home on Saturday.

Haines, 19, had been wanted on warrants for four other break-ins between December and February, including three at the Pleasant Grove Community Church at 11225 Mountain View Road.

Haines faces five counts of second-degree burglary and theft-related charges. He is being held pending two $100,000 bonds.
