A Montgomery County mother is facing nearly a dozen charges after authorities said she offered a Gaithersburg man sex with her daughter to settle a $5,000 debt.
Maryland prosecutors say that the woman, whose name The Washington Examiner is not reporting because it could be used to identify the victim of a sex crime, has been charged with 11 counts in connection with the allegations.
Bejarni Rivas, 44, is accused of being the daughter's sexual partner. A grand jury has indicted him on 13 counts, including rape and human trafficking charges.
Police began investigating after the daughter told a relative about what had taken place.
A man who answered the telephone on Sunday afternoon at a number listed for Rivas hung up when a reporter identified himself. The mother could not be reached.
