Park Police in Montgomery and Prince George's counties are inspecting their 42 Ford Crown Victoria cruisers for steering problems after Montgomery County Police pulled 342 of the cars from the road on Tuesday.

Montgomery County Police were prompted to inspect the cars after two had malfunctioning steering mechanisms. As of Tuesday at noon, the county had found another three cars with the same problem.

The Maryland-National Capital Park Police have not had any steering failures, but they decided to inspect the cars as a precaution, Acting Chief Antonio DeVaul said in a statement Thursday.
