More than 800 4-H members due at Capitol Tuesday

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — More than 800 4-H members are heading to Richmond to meet with legislators.

Tuesday's "4-H Day at the Capital" is an annual event intended to inform 4-H members about the legislative process and to thank legislators for their support of youth development programs.

As a token of their thanks, 4-H members will present each legislator with a shamrock plant.

4-H members will also tour the Capitol, the governor's mansion and visit other sites of interest in the capital city.

More than 185,000 people ages 5-19 are enrolled in Virginia's 4-H program.
