< p>MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) — Farmers looking to connect with others and improve their knowledge are invited to the West Virginia Small Farm Conference.

The event is set for Feb. 28 through March 2 at the Waterfront Place Hotel and Conference Center in Morgantown.

It will offer more than 70 classes on everything from horticulture to taxes. Workshops will include farmers markets, food business, agritourism and youth entrepreneurship.

Tom McConnell of the WVU Extension Service Small Farm Center says it can help farms and families make more money and grow new crops.

New topics include forming cooperatives, integrated pest management, insurance, teamwork, and personal and business finances.

The free Winter Blues Farmers Market is open to the public from 3-8 p.m. on Feb. 28. It includes a dine-around featuring 15 restaurants.
