President Obama has announced his authorization for two targeted airstrikes in Iraq. The targeted attacks are meant to push ISIS back in the country and protect minority groups that are under attack. Obama made a point to say these attacks will not result in America going back to war.

Sen. Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn., defeated his Tea Party challenger last night in Tennessee's GOP primary. State Rep. Joe Carr, R-Tenn. was seen as the last, best chance for the Tea Party to unseat an incumbent establishment GOP candidate. The Tea Party has failed in this year's midterm primaries to gain a notable foothold with American voters.
