House Republicans released their plan to shore up the U.S.-Mexico border yesterday and it all starts with fixing a 2008 human trafficking law. House GOP members say changes must be made to that law which would then make it easier to deport children from Central American countries.

Additionally, the GOP is willing to give President Obama $1.5 billion to help with the border crisis, far less than the $3.7 billion the president had asked for.

General Motors recalled another 717,00 vehicles for a variety of defects yesterday bringing the total number of cars recalled this year along to more than 26 million.

The Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee voted unanimously yesterday to send Robert McDonald's nomination to the full Senate floor for debate. McDonald is President Obama's pick to head the Department of Veterans Affairs.
