"Modern Family's" Julie Bowen has always been a liberal ("I love me a gay marriage"), but recently she told Capitol File for the magazine's fall cover story that her views are changing now that she's had kids. "There is this sense of wanting to protect your family," she said. "I do find myself in fits and start going, 'Wow, I'm kind of conservative about some stuff now that I never thought I'd be conservative about.' " The Towson native recalls watching one of her son's favorite musician's videos. "The kids were like, 'Mommy, where did that lady's clothes go?' " she recounts. "I'm like, 'That is an excellent question. She is very cold, let's change the channel. Boy, I hope she doesn't catch pneumonia. Let's change the channel,' " Bowen told the magazine, adding that she now appreciates the parental restrictions put on CDs.

During the interview, Bowen also told some funny anecdotes about her recent trips to Washington. She attended the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner and also had tea at the White House with first lady Michelle Obama and Sasha and Malia. The Obama daughters told Bowen that they never raided the White House fridge. The reason? It was filled with all that mom-approved "boring" healthy food.
