ROYAL OAK, Mich. (AP) — The head of the Motion Picture Association of America is set to attend a screening of the upcoming film, "Oz: The Great and Powerful," in the Detroit area.

MPAA Chairman and CEO Christopher Dodd is to be joined by Michigan Senate Majority Leader Randy Richardville and members of the local cast and crew at Tuesday's event in Royal Oak.

Scenes for the prequel to "The Wizard of Oz" were filmed at a movie studio on the site of a former General Motors truck plant and office complex in Pontiac.

"Oz: The Great and Powerful" opens Friday.

Those attending Tuesday's private screening at Emagine Royal Oak have been asked to bring a non-perishable food item to benefit Forgotten Harvest or gloves and mittens to benefit Mittens for Detroit.
