Media mogul Rupert Murdoch loves the selection of Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., as the vice presidential candidate.

“Thank God! Now we might have a real election on the great issues of the day,” Murdoch tweeted this morning. “Paul Ryan almost perfect choice.” After the new GOP ticket finished their Virginia campaigning, he added that the “Romney choice of Ryan looking better and better,” in another tweet. “Romney re-energised and speaking better. Now we can choose between Greek and US dream.”

Murdoch was apparently referring to Ryan’s proposals as Budget Committee Chairman to resolve a looming debt crisis — $16 trillion and counting — that threatens to put the U.S. economy through the travails of the Greek economy when that nation defaulted.

Murdoch has not always been so respectful of Romney’s campaign, as he predicted in July that Obama’s team “will be hard to beat unless he drops old friends from team and hires some real pros.”
