DALLAS (AP) — Mavericks forward Troy Murphy is out of his first start of the season.

Murphy made his first start in 11 games since joining Dallas in Wednesday night's game against the New York Knicks. He played nearly 18 minutes, but didn't return after halftime because of an upper respiratory illness.

Murphy was 0-for-3 shooting, all on 3-pointers and made both of his free throws. He had five rebounds.

His first start came two nights after Murphy was 4-of-6 on 3s while scoring 12 points against Golden State.
