SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) — Police in South Bend say they haven't had any reports of disturbances after Notre Dame was blown out by Alabama 42-14 in the BCS championship game.

A woman answering the phone at the South Bend Police Department early Tuesday who declined to give her name says there were no reports of problems in the northern Indiana city following the loss late Monday night.

The campus in northern Indiana was quiet because students are still on holiday break. Director of football media relations Brian Hardin said Fighting Irish players won't return to South Bend immediately because classes don't resume until Monday. The players will head from Miami Gardens, Fla., to their homes across the country for a few days before heading back to campus.

The Irish finished the season 12-1.
